Sequal Diva freestyle

Sometimes 2 does make it right!
Sequal was put together in 1984 by producer Lewis Martineé just a lil' before he rounded up the girls for his next group Expose'. Sequal was made up of 2 hot girls: the strong-vocaled Maria Christensen (blonde), & the sexy-smooth vocaled Angie (brunette). To many, Sequal was an awesome Freestyle/Dance-Pop act that went somewhat overlooked. Their first single was the 1985 club classic "It's Not Too Late". It was the first Freestyle/Miami record to carry that unique sound that was again heard on Expose's "Point Of No Return" & "Exposed To Love", as well as other Martineé productions that followed. According to Martineé, Sequals' new debut sound was their introduction. "It's Not Too Late" seemed to be cultivated first in NYC's clubs. And although hailing from Miami, Sequal made alot of noise in NYC, & LA.Working with other hot Freestyle & Dance producers such as "Little" Louie Vega, Michael Morejon, Mantronik-(India/Nocera/Hanson & Davis), Robert Rodriguez, & Danny Tenaglia, they released some kool trax such as "Tell The Truth", "She Don't Want You", "Tell Him I Called", & the bass pumping "I'm Over You".
Their first & only (now hard to find) 1988 self-titled debut album was packed with quality freestyle jams. Including "Took Another Chance" featuring Nancy Martinez. Even though on a major label (Capitol), it was always weird as to why they weren't bigger than they were. The album was very versatile with Freestyle & Pop-R&B songs, as well as slammin' vocal arrangements, that would've appealed to a large audience. But of course, all good things come to an end. It is uncertain as to why this Diva-duo dissappeared from the scene, but some of their classic singles as well as new songs in the past recent years can be heard on various compilations. Sequal is definately a mark in Freestyle music history, more than people think. They will not be forgotten, which is why this page was made.
In 1993, Maria released her solo album on Atlantic Records.
In the late 90s Maria became the lead singer of the female Dance trio, 3rd Party. They released club jams including a house remake of Chaka Khan's "Love Is Alive", & appeared on VH-1's The RuPaul Show.
Their album included a song written by Maria entitled "Waiting For Tonight" which was later handed to Jennifer Lopez & became one of J-Lo's signature hits. They also had a song on the motion picture soundtrack for the hit comedy "Kiss Me Guido". Today Angie's whereabouts are not exactly known, but Maria is still active with her music & other projects, as well as writing for artists that have included Celine Dion & *NSYNC.
